Azura Prospect (Copper)
THX 100% (August 2014)
Thundelarra discovered the Azura Copper Prospect in 2009 at the Frank Hill Project, an Exploration Licence (E80/2878) of about 54 square kilometres area located approximately 120 kms north-east of Halls Creek in WA. A number of large native copper specimens have been recovered at surface. Regional geophysical surveys conducted over the area have identified a number of IP (Induced polarisation) anomalies, many of which have now been drill tested.
Native coper grains were found in fresh mafic-ultramafic rocks in hole TAZRC001 between 18m and 170m down-hole (as reported in the announcement dated 18 March 2014). This unusual occurrence requires detailed investigation once a suitable method for accurate assay of copper grade has been established.
Due to the sampling and assay challenges of this unusual style of mineralisation, Frank Hill will remain a lower priority exploration target for the time being.
